I believe that for most individuals, the choice to seek a therapist does not come easily and that the decision to engage in therapy is often prompted by an experience of significant emotional pain, life change or loss. I strive to create a safe, affirming and collaborative space to allow clients to process their experiences, gain self-awareness, heal from the past, develop more positive relationships, and essentially feel better about who they are.
As a therapist I see myself as a guide in helping clients make desired changes in their lives and to enhance their understanding of who they are. I believe that therapy needs to be tailored to the individual and that what may work for one client may not work for another.
I have a passion for and experience providing therapeutic services to the LGBTQ community. I am affirming of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Additionally, I have experience working with clients who are HIV positive and have the knowledge base to support clients in navigating medical care and managing stigma and relationships in relation to their HIV status.
